2. Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to create a basis for understanding in future doctors the universal values associated with such concepts as duty, honor, dignity, honesty, and justice, as well as to develop the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve ethical issues that arise in professional activities.

4. Learning Outcomes

4.1. Knowledge Aspect:     

  • have an understanding of the terms and concepts related to social ethics, theories, basic principles and provisions of bioethics, the main documents on bioethics in the country and abroad, the legal and ethical foundations of relations in medical activities, the legal and fundamentals of the application of achievements of modern science and technology in biomedical research;
  • have knowledge of the principles and rules of biomedical ethics and medical deontology, when solving problems on ethical and legal issues in medical activity, ethical and legal assessment of adverse consequences in medical activity, compiling cases on the bioethics module, and their application in practice.

4.2. Skills Aspect:

  • be able to apply ethical standards in medical practice, including when conducting biotests, and philosophically analyze ethical problems arising in medical practice,
  • assess the patientʼs consent or dissatisfaction with medical interventions, form relationships with the patient and his relatives in compliance with ethical and legal standards;
  • be able to discuss and resolve conflicts in cases observed in medical practice.

8. Course Assessment Criteria and Plan

8.1. Student Assessment Types

Для оценки знаний студентов по данному предмету используются следующие виды контроля: Current Assessment (CA), Midterm Exam (ME), Final Exam (FE).

Current Assessment (CA). This type of control accumulates over the course of the semester and consists of::

- Workshop. The studentʼs activity in class and responses to questions asked of them are assessed.;

- Independent work of the student.. Depending on the nature of the subject, students defend assignments individually or in small groups using presentation/multimedia/written/visual formats.;;

- Task. Each student individually completes the cases/assignments/reports assigned by the teacher according to a template previously set by the subject teacher.;

- Attendance. Evaluated based on the studentʼs participation rate in classes..

Midterm Exam (ME). This type of assessment is administered in a test format on a designated day of the semester (10th week) during a lesson. It is based on questions prepared on topics that have passed the midterm assessment. The teacher informs students about the format and procedure for the midterm exam in their initial lessons.

Final Exam (FE). The subject is assessed through a test upon completion of the educational process.

Izoh: Talaba 0-59 oraligʻida oʻzlashtirish koʻrsatkichiga yoki bir fanning 1/3 qismiga sababsiz qatnashmasa oʻqiyotgan semestrida mazkur fandan oʻzlashtirmagan (feyl), akademik qarzdor hisoblanadi. d) quyidagi hollarda talabaning bilim darajasi qoniqarsiz (F) baho bilan baholanishi mumkin:

9. Exam Requirements and Instructions

1. Talaba imtihon nazorati qoidalarini buzgan hollarda, mazkur fandan imtihon bali bekor qilinishi haqida ogohlantiriladi.

2. Komissiya aʼzosi imtihon boshlanishini eʼlon qilgunga qadar imtihon varagʻini ochish taʼqiqlanadi.

3. Talaba uyali yoki boshqa aloqa vositalari, gadjetlarni oʻchirib, komissiya aʼzosi koʻrsatmasiga binoan oʻzidan uzoqlikda saqlashi shart. Kitob, manuskript, daftar va boshqa koʻmaklashuvchi materiallardan foydalanish mumkin emas.

4. Talabalar bir-biri bilan gaplashishi, imtihon varaqlarini koʻrsatishi, koʻchirtirishi, boshqalarni chalgʻitishi maʼn etiladi.

5. Oziq-ovqat va ichimliklarni auditoriyaga olib kirishi mumkin emas. Shifokor koʻrsatmasiga binoan dori-darmon, kichik idishdagi suv bundan mustasno.

6. Auditoriyadan ruxsatsiz chiqish mumkin emas. Xususan, imtihonning birinchi va oxirgi 10 minutida auditoriyadan chiqish taʼqiqlanadi. Talaba imtihon varaqasini muddatidan oldin topshirib chiqib ketgan holatda qayta auditoriyaga qoʻyilmaydi.

7. Komissiya aʼzosi imtihon tugashini eʼlon qilganidan soʻng, talaba yozishni toʻxtatadi va imtihon varaqlari yigʻilgunga qadar auditoriyani tark etmaydi.
